5th October 2006
Our man of the night was Clint. Clint has been a regular for some time at the buskers and has written and produced a CD of his own compositions in his time. Clint has the sound and stlye of the Verve's Richard Ashcroft with a bit of Oasis thrown in. On a buskers night you will most likely hear a bit of these two played at some time by Clint. Speak to him nicely, and he may come up with a copy of his CD for you.... |
Nice to see a couple of 'irregulars' at the Tavern tonight. Lisa and Linda certainly enjoyed Clint's performance and we hope to see them again soon. Rob, seen here on the right is doing his rabbit caught in bright headlights act. |

Most Thursdays, we have the pleasure of Zaks company and he always pleases the crowd with his rendition of Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe. (Jimi would turn in his grave if he could hear it) We can see here how much Zaks playing is enjoyed by Jonny and James (they are the ones with their fingers in their ears) and Bob is so enthralled by it all, he has to read a book to calm his excitement.............. |

Steve, Bob & Rob - October 12th 2006
Bob, Rob & Steve certainly pulled in the crowd on this night! The lads play a mixture of songs, but every one is a song which you will know and be able to sing along to. These lads will give you the everly Brothers, the Beatles, Crowded House, Travis to name but a few.
19th October 2006 - Dom Murphy

Dom is well known in the local music 'industry'. He is an exceptional drummer as I can vouch for from experience as I have seen him play in more than 1 band over the past few years.
Most of the audience who have not seen Dom before will certainly remember him after this night as he played a range of songs covering quite a large and diverse range.
Some of his songs were those which I can virtually guarantee you won't hear at many other open mike or buskers nights. Dom is quite happy to play songs from from bands such as the Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World which certainly suits me fine as I love both bands. |
There weren't quite as many folk there when we started as I would have hoped, but all enjoyed the show - you can see Pete Shaw lurking in the background waiting for Dom to finish so that he could get up and show off some of his skills........................................... |

October 26th 2006 - Libby
Generally, we have tended to spotlight locals on the early spot at the Tavern. However, I have recently been trying to pul in some not so local talent for a change & Libby is one of those.
Libby hails from the Newbiggin area of Northumberland is is quite a talented lady (her cd was reviewed by Mark Cocking some time back and can be found elsewhere on the site).
Libby did a range of her own compositions as well as the well known Corrs 'I never loved you anyway'.
The other songs played were:
Music Industry I Know Battlestations I see you Don't take it Dickhead Window The way I dream |

Also there on the night was another newcomer - Rod Stiles who played a few songs for us - pretty impressive - hopefully, we will be able to get him along for the spotlight soon.
I also got the chance to do 'Kashmir' with Jonny |
